Iron Trajectory

Problem

You want to learn how to control the height of your iron shots.

Cure

There is only a small difference between setting up for a high and low shot. The greater you change the set up and swing style, the greater the change in the height of the ball flight. So the more your body feels in front of the ball, expect a lower trajectory and the more your body feels behind the ball, expect a higher trajectory.

Therapy

For a higher trajectory, set the ball forward in your stance. Place your body weight evenly on both of your feet or just a little more on the trailing leg. Stay behind the ball throughout the swing and try to limit the release of the club. For a lower trajectory, set the ball further back in your stance. Place your body weight a little more on the forward leg. Keep your body centered during the swing and feel free to fully release the club.
