Inconsistent Wedge Shots
Problem
You are having inconsistency problems while attempting to change the distances of your wedge shots.
Cure
Work on having at least two standard yardages with every wedge and short iron in your bag.
Therapy
Simply opening and closing your wedge will change the yardages of each club. Another way to change the distance is to regulate how far back you take the club. Imagine standing in front of a giant clock. For a standard wedge shot, you should take your leading arm up to the 10 position on the clock. Using the same tempo and speed, bring the leading arm back to the 9 position for a short shot. By swinging to clock positions, you will be able to maintain the consistency in your swing while achieving different distances.
