Imaginary Line
Problem
You want to work on how you visualize your line on the putting green.
Cure
Without putting any thought into it, guess where the ball will enter the cup. This is because we often forget to play by using our instincts. After you take your guess, plan out how the ball will roll due to any break and officially determine where the ball will enter the cup. Once you know where the ball will roll into the hole is a great start in visualizing your line back to the ball.
Therapy
Get down low and really notice the break. Decide how it will affect your line. Imagine the ball rolling from the putter to the cup. See exactly where the ball should roll into the hole. A great way to do this, is image that someone has already recorded this putt on television and drew a red line indicating the path the ball is going to roll. Do not just picture a line drawn but actually imagine the line being drawn at the rate you would expect the ball to roll. Imagine the narration of a sports announcer stating how the viewers may not notice but there is a slight break from left to right, causing a slight curve to the line. By imagining how the ball will roll, seeing the line, and even verbally confirming the line, it will ingrain the aim into your mind so that it feels more natural when you putt.
