How to Hit on an Uphill Lie
Problem
When hitting from an uphill lie, gravity will make it difficult to transfer your weight to your front foot during your forward swing. The steeper the hill, the greater the draw and the more you will need to change your aim to compensate for the right to left spin.
Cure
When hitting from a hill, always remember to keep your shoulders parallel to the ground. For better weight transfer, flare your front foot slightly. Play the ball in your stance as you would with a flat lie.
Therapy
The majority of your weight should be on your back foot so this leg will bend a little less than your front. As you bend both knees a little forward, your spine should be perpendicular to the slope and shoulders parallel to the ground. When practicing this swing, take a higher club than you would normally at this distance. Due to the uphill lie, you will have limited hip turn and if you attempt to force it, you will most likely lose your balance and hit the ball unpredictably. You will have an easier time balancing and better ball flight if you complete your swing with a full finish.
