Tip From the Archives
Hit a Power Fade
Problem
You need a fade without hooking or drawing the ball.
Cure
You need to delay the rotation of the forearm on your forward arm and the clubface just enough to prevent the toe from passing the heel early so that the face will be slightly open at impact.
Therapy
To achieve this, your leading forearm and shaft should form a 90 degree angle but tilted slightly on its side. Your leading palm should face the target and the heel of your club needs to stay ahead of the toe. Be careful because if you turn the club over too soon, you will hook or draw the ball. Practice swinging the club to the finish until you can consistently make a 90 degrees angle with your forward arm and elbow.
