Tip From the Archives
High Lob
Problem
You need a high lob shot.
Cure
Make sure you have a long enough swing and remember to accelerate through the ball.
Therapy
Aim your body so that it is pointing left of the target, with an open stance. Place about 60 percent of your bodyweight on your forward leg. Set the shaft of the club in a neutral position with the clubface tilted back a little for more bounce. You need more of a swing with this shot, with the length and rhythm of the forward and backswing matching. If you feel the need to decelerate, then you are taking too long of a backswing. You will be more successful if you accelerate into impact. Just remember to keep your lower body still.
