High Fade

Problem

You need a high flying left to right shot that lands softly.

Cure

A high fade can provide you with increased loft, plenty of control and aggressive aiming even with the smallest greens. You will need to club up because you will lose distance due to the left to right ball flight.

Therapy

Aim your body to the left of the target but keep your clubface square to it. Using an open stance, move the ball up in your stance by an inch or more. Take a tight grip with your forward hand to help ensure a firm wrist at impact; this will also help prevent your back hand from turning over your forward hand. Although you keep your weight evenly distributed on both feet, you should bend a little away from the target with your back shoulder bent down just a little. Keep your hands ahead of the ball and your head behind the ball throughout the entire swing for an earlier release of your hands at impact.
