Tip From the Archives
Hate Putting
Problem
You no longer enjoy putting.
Cure
Work on improving your putting skills and you might find that putting will feel like less of a task. Sometimes the excitement of sinking a sweet putt is enough to get you excited about your short game.
Therapy
Challenge yourself on the putting green. Work on your extremely difficult putts. Sometimes for players this is 5 feet from the hole and for others it is over 3 yards. Place a bunch of balls around the hole in a heart shape or any other shape, number, or letter that you are fond of. An encouraging shape can help ingrain a positive image into your mind and it also gives you a good variety of distances and break. Practice putting from each location until you sink every one of them.
Also Try getting one of those at home putting cups they are about 3-5 bucks and if you have carpet it will making practicing more convienent on say a rainy sunday afternoon or during the commercial breaks while watching a game.
