Problem
Golf feels more stressful than fun or your hands shake just before impact.
Cure
Change the way you perceive how you hit the ball. Even if it is the yips that is causing your hands to shake, if you can change the way your hands send the signal to your brain about impact, you help prevent the yips.
Therapy
Instead of putting golf balls on the practice green, hit plastic Easter eggs. This will change the sensation in your hands and the way you think about impact. If you hit them with your longer clubs, you will find that it is also very gratifying because these eggs will fly much further than a golf ball. They will often pop open or shatter but many will soar through the air very far. Just set them on the tee so that the long end is pointing towards your target. If you are feeling more destructive and have a place that you can get away with it, hit a bunch of hard boiled eggs out into a field as hard as you can. This can help relieve stress and exercise your swinging muscles at the same time!
