Grip Pressure Points

Problem

You want to improve your grip so you can have a better feel for your swing.

Cure

Adjusting the grip pressure onto certain fingers can make all of the difference in establishing proper feel and ball striking consistency. Be sure that when your thumb and forefinger make a V shape that the shape on both hands point towards your back shoulder. For a more consistent swing, grip every club the same way, every time.

Therapy

In addition to having the V line formed by your thumb and index finger on both hands pointing towards your back shoulder, you also want the top thumb to be in the center of your palm of your lower hand. Establish proper pressure points by allowing the middle two fingers of your trailing hand to apply the most pressure. This gives your index fingers and thumbs a feel for the club. On your lead hand, you want the back three fingers to establish pressure so the thumb and index finger are able to have the feel for the club.
