Tip From the Archives
Greenside Pitches
Problem
Difficulty deciding how to play based on the specific conditions of each shot.
Cure
Use a wedge with more bounce to repel the long grass or choose a wedge with less bounce when in a tight lie. It might be wise to use a less lofted club for more control.
Therapy
Be careful not to open the clubface too much. Concentrate on letting the leading edge of the club make contact with the ground. Keep your hands back a little and open the clubface when in a fluffy lie. Your hands should be slightly ahead of the club when in a tight lie.
