Free the Clubface for a Draw

Problem

You normally have difficulty drawing the ball because you do not release the clubhead freely at the point of contact.

Cure

Use a 3 wood for more control on tight fairways. Take a stronger grip to help free the clubface easier within the impact zone.

Therapy

Using strong grip with both hands rotated away from the target will help draw the ball from right to left off of the tee. Your trailing hand should be turned underneath the grip so that the palm is almost parallel to the palm on your forward hand. As you take the club back, keep your hands quiet as you turn your shoulders in a clockwise direction. Flatten your backswing to allow your forearm to rotate during the downswing. This will cause the clubface to turn over as the toe of the club guides the heel through impact, to help establish a draw spin onto the ball.
