Forward Foot Drill

Problem

You want to get a little more clubhead speed at the bottom of your swing.

Cure

Try to take advantage of the potential acceleration at the bottom of your swing by allowing your arms to fully extend and pass your body instead of using the muscles in your upper body to turn and complete the shot too quickly.

Therapy

Take your normal stance then set your trailing foot back, behind your forward foot. Keep the heel on your trailing foot down as you swing. As you do, make sure you can get the club to swing past your body. Keep your upper body quiet at the bottom of your swing and allow your arms pass your body to help create extra clubhead acceleration.
