Fix Your Push or Pull
Problem
The ball pushes to the right or pulls to the left when using your irons.
Cure
Try changing your stance and the ball position. Be sure that the lie angle of your irons are correct; you will make flush contact with the ground, leaving rectangular divots, for a straighter ball flight.
Therapy
When the ball is pushing towards the right, you might be aiming too far to the right. If a change in aim does not help, you should adjust the ball so that it is two inches further forward in your stance. Another possible cause for a push is that the lie angle is too upright. When the toe of the club is higher than the heel at impact, the heel of the club will make contact with the ground first and turn the clubface so that it is closed. If the ball is pulling towards the left, you might be aiming too far left. If the change in aim does not help then you should adjust your stance so that the ball is two inches further back in your stance. Another possible cause for a pull is that the lie angle of your club is too flat. When the heel of the club is higher than the toe at impact, the toe makes contact with the ground first and turns the clubface so that it is open.
