First Tee Jitters
Problem
Unable to relax, focus, or swing as you normally would at the first tee of the game.
Cure
Don’t allow yourself enough time to over-think your swing. If you spend too much time hovering over the ball, you will lose the image in your mind of where the ball needs to go. Try this simple breathing trick to get yourself motivated.
Therapy
A deep breath can help you relax but most people breath and think about what they are going to do at this first tee. Instead take your deep breath and just as you exhale, take your backswing. As you exhale, your body is relaxed the most and therefore you should get a better swing. It is ok to complete your normal pre-shot routine, but be sure that before you make your swing that you take the deep breath, exhale, and swing!
