Find the Correct Balance and Ball Placement
Problem
Trouble finding the correct distance between you and the golf ball.
Cure
Take practice swings and examine where the club brushes the ground. To help maintain balance, make sure your chin is off of your chest throughout your swing.
Therapy
Keep the pressure on both heels throughout the swing. Find the location that the club head is consistently brushing the ground and play it at that location. It is important the balance is correct for the ball placement. The club head should feel as if it is hanging directly from your shoulders with the shoulders and armpits resting against your rib cage to help support the club head. If you are right handed, place your the weight on top of your left ankle with the left foot flat on the ground at finish. Your body should be facing the target, with your hands resting comfortably over the left shoulder. Your shoulders and hips will be over the center of your left knee and ankle while your right foot will be on its toes with only a little weight on it.
