Feel Taller

Problem

You slouch a lot during your round of golf.

Cure

Always stretch before playing a round of golf to help your spine feel longer for better posture and to help boost your self esteem.

Therapy

Stretch your arms as high as you can above your head. You can even do this while lying down. Continue to do it until you have the sensation of feeling taller. This simple stretch will make you feel lighter and taller. It is important to help your form better posture at set up and hit longer drives. This stretch will also help strengthen your lower back muscles and stretch your chest muscles. Return to standing upright. Now stretch your arms above your head again but this time interlock your fingers together with your forefingers pointing up. Feel as if someone is holding your forefingers so that your body is dangling from them. Feel the relief in your back as your vertebrae extend apart. From this position, stretch your back and sides even further by pointing your fingers up and towards the right by leaning your head and shoulders to the right. Feel the stretch in your left side. Repeat this on the other side. Relax your arms for a minute. Then hold your arms above your head, spread a little wider than your shoulders. Stretch your abdominal muscles by leaning your arms, head and upper body back as far as you can. Hold this position. Return to a stand and repeat it to see if you can lean back even further.
