Tip From the Archives
Eyes Behind the Ball
Problem
You keep hitting the ball in the sand bunker despite the fact you plan on hitting into the sand a couple of inches behind the ball.
Cure
You might be looking at the ball after you set up, causing you to hit it. After you address the ball, stare at the location that you plan on entering into the sand.
Therapy
Make sure the ball is not set too far back in your stance. You want it just off of the heel of your leading foot. Because you will need to enter the sand a few inches behind the ball, you should set up with your eyes a couple of inches behind the ball.
