Exploding Hook

Problem

You have a sand shot and want the ball to roll either up a sloped green or across to the pin on the other side of the it.

Cure

Try making an exploding hook shot out of the sand; this will give ball a little extra roll to the pin.

Therapy

Dig your feet into the ground for stability. Swing the club more inside during the backswing. Take the clubhead back down traveling more outside of the target line. Hit into the sand about two inches behind the ball, almost as if you are slapping the club into the sand with your trailing hand. The ball should fly low with plenty of roll.
