Tip From the Archives
Driving Low
Problem
You want extra distance or it is windy so you need to keep the ball low.
Cure
Drive the ball low to help gain extra yardage. You will see less backspin and the ball will roll more when it lands in the fairway.
Therapy
Widen your stance. Move the ball up to an inch further back in your stance than usual so you will hit the ball towards the bottom of the arc of your swing. Tee the ball a quarter of an inch lower or more than you normally would. Allow some weight shift during your swing but try to keep more of your weight onto your forward leg during your backswing to help achieve a lower ball flight.
