Deep Divots
Problem
You lose distance and see really deep due to having a too steep of a swing.
Cure
When your shoulder turn is angled too steep or too up and down, you will lose distance and see deep divots. Practice making more of a baseball style swing to help level out your shoulder turn.
Therapy
Before you take your practice swing, swing a club as if you are swinging a baseball. This will help you get a feel for a flatter shoulder turn. When you apply this feeling to your actual shots, you want to allow more weight on your trailing leg at the top of your swing. This is because people with excessively steep swings tend to place too much weight on the forward leg. As you shift your bodyweight forward during the downswing, focus on trying to get the center of your chest pointing towards the target by the time you complete the swing.
