Daily Balance
Problem
You sway, lose sight of the ball, or step back during your swing due to poor balance, causing unpredictable ball flight.
Cure
Pretend that there are two walls on both sides of your body. Do not allow any part of your body to touch them during your swing. If your hips or shoulders touch then you are tilting or tipping during the swing. This will cause you to lose balance, accuracy, and distance.
Therapy
Always set up to the ball and make sure that your feet are shoulder width apart with your shoulders directly over your hips throughout the entire swing. To help ingrain how important it is to keep your hips and shoulders aligned during your swing, pay attention on how you need to do it everyday. Balance while walking on curbs and other small spaced objects. Notice when you do that it is much easier to remain balanced when you keep your shoulders over your hips. When you tip or sway, your hips and shoulders lose their alignment. This causes other parts of your body to move so you do not fall over; such as your arms and feet. When this happens during the golf swing, your arms and legs move to steady your balance and you make poor contact with the ball.
