Tip From the Archives
Control Game
Problem
You want to improve your accuracy.
Cure
Try making a game out of your round by only hitting on one side of the fairway.
Therapy
Take a good look at the scorecard before playing and decide which side of the fairway you want to play on. You have to play this side on every hole and pretend that the other half is out of bounds. If you choose the left side, you can only allow your ball to land on the left side of the fairway and on the green. For every time it does, you gain ten points. When your ball lands on the right side, you lose five points. Even if the ball rolls on the right side of the green for a few seconds, you lose five points. By keeping the ball on your side of the green, you will need to focus more on where exactly around the hole you want the ball to roll into the cup and the stroke necessary to get it there. Total up your points from the game and subtract the total from your score card. Whoever has the most points at the end of the round, wins.
