Club Behind Your Hands
Problem
You have a really fast arm swing but you slice the ball.
Cure
Try to slow down your swing because accelerating too quickly can cause an improper weight shift. With a good weight shift, you can create leverage. When your leverage is correct, it will pull you off the heel of your back foot through impact and not before it.
Therapy
Imagine the club staying behind your hands while approaching the ball. Think about the club striking the ball on the inside of the back of the ball so the club stays behind your body longer during the downswing help keep it on path as you approach impact. Remember to keep your head behind the ball and the heel of your back foot must remain on the ground through impact. Swing barefoot to help prevent an overswing, improper weight shift, or heaving your hips and legs. This can help you focus more on a more natural weight shift from your back foot onto your forward foot with your upper body and hands supporting the swing.
