Broom Drill
Problem
You need to improve your release or ability to square the clubface at impact. You also want to find a way to strengthen the muscles you need for a powerful swing.
Cure
Try swinging something bulkier than a club to provide more resistance and therefore an exaggerated feel for the release.
Therapy
Take your normal stance while holding a broom. Place the broom so that the edge gently touches the ground. Take a normal swing with it. Due to the resistance, you will have to focus on trying to rotate the broom using your hands and arms so that it is square to the target or so the edge of the broom brushes against the ground at impact. For a greater exaggeration of a release, try throwing the broom towards the target during your forward swing.
