Tip From the Archives
Break Game
Problem
You want to work on your ability to read the break.
Cure
Turn the skill of reading the break into a game to help make practice more fun.
Therapy
Drop a ball onto the green. Take turns looking behind the ball and try to read the break. Decide where you want to aim and walk over to put a tee into the spot you are aiming to compensate for the break. Let your friend do the same. Now you each putt two balls, aiming for each tee in hopes to make it into the cup, stating which tee you are aiming for before you do. Keep track of which tee was better placed, giving two points and who made it into the hole, giving one point. If you make it in while aiming at your tee, you get a bonus point, giving you four points for it.
