Brace For More Power
Problem
Slicing, hitting fat, or topping.
Cure
If your backswing is too quick, then both feet will lose contact with the ground and prevents a proper weight shift into the downswing. Taking the club away too hastily will force your body to think it is losing its balance, causing your body to react by stiffening up so your hips cannot turn and your arms will fold over to try to gain enough speed to hit a full shot you will end up pulling, slicing, hitting it fat or topping the ball and your backswing will end too early.
Therapy
Your shoulders should be fully rotated at the top of your swing and you need to place your weight on your back foot in order to properly shift and brace your weight onto to your left side for your forward swing; your left heel will cause the club to accelerate for a powerful contact. Remember: swing, brace, and whip (swing back, brace your left heel, and whip your torso towards the target).
