Better Rhythm

Problem

You need an easy way to establish a more natural rhythm and feel to your distance swings.

Cure

You might be trying too hard to add on a little more power to your full swing. This is a rhythm and power killer. So, take an easier swing at about 80 to 85 percent power.

Therapy

If you can get away with it, swing without shoes or a glove on while you practice at the driving range. Playing barefoot will prevent you from overswinging for a more natural rhythm. When you play without the glove, it gives you more feedback in your hands and wrist. While you are playing at the course, you might want to consider playing in old tennis shoes. This will reduce your traction significantly. If you try to kill it, you will end up falling down. It is a great way to encourage you to take a balanced swing for more rhythm, feel, and distance.

I talked to a golf pro, and he told me that he plays in his tennis shoes, rather than having special golf shoes. Maybe this is why.
