Bed Exercise

Problem

You do not have time go to the gym yet you need to improve your drives.

Cure

In addition to needing to use your legs, back, stomach, and arm muscles to create power, you also need to be able to generate power from your hips. Try to work in a few hip exercises to your daily routine to help gain extra yardage to your swing.

Therapy

When your hip muscles are too weak during the golf swing, it will cause your arms and back to be overworked and slow your swing down. Here are some exercises you can do in bed in the morning to help strengthen your hip muscles. Fold your blankets down, so that it is covering your feet and the lower half of your calves. Roll onto your side and bend your bottom leg a little. Lift your top leg up without allowing it to move forwards. Hold it there for five seconds, lower, and repeat. Now, straighten your lower leg. Take your top leg out of the blankets so the knee is bent up and your foot is just behind your knee of your other leg. Now lift your lower leg as high as you can, hold it there for five seconds and repeat. Roll over to the other side and repeat both exercises. Try this exercise you can do that will also work on your abs. Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet under the blankets. Squeeze your abdominal muscles and lift one of your legs up so the lower part of your leg is parallel with the bed. Lower and repeat several times. You can do this without the blanket but if you use it, it will provide extra resistance for better results.
