Ball Placement Control

Problem

You know how to fade and draw the ball but you feel you could improve these shots.

Cure

In addition to the proper set up and clubface adjustments for controlling the ball, you also can work the ball better if you change where you set the it in your stance.

Therapy

When you need a draw or a hook, try placing the ball closer to your trailing foot. Keep in mind that this position will also deloft the trajectory for a lower ball flight. When you need to fade the ball, place the ball a closer towards your forward toe. This will add a little more loft to the shot.

For mid-handicappers, think of swinging more round your body with a slower swing for the draw. Keep your head behind the ball. Conversely a more upright, slightly faster swing will add to the fade.
