Balanced Start

Problem

You suffer from inconsistency problems.

Cure

Check your balance; if you do not start your swing in a balanced position then your body will be trying to correct your balance and throwing your swing off in the process.

Therapy

Set up to the ball with your arms hanging loosely from your shoulders. Take notice where the pressure is placed on the bottom of your feet. You want your weight to be centered over the arches of your feet. Keep moving your feet in the set up position by taking tiny steps, until you feel most of the pressure of your body weight center in your arches. Remember to keep looking at the target so you do not lose your mental image of the shot. Waggle the club and swing. Do not allow anytime to pass after your final look at the target and waggle. This will help prevent any self doubt or tension to creep in.
