Arms and Body

Problem

You have the sensation that your arms are not connected with your body during the swing.

Cure

Try gaining a better feel for how your arms and body are working together as a single unit at set up.

Therapy

As you approach the ball at set up, grip the club and walk with it so the clubhead is hovering over the ground by at least 6 inches. Take your stance and hold the clubhead 6 inches over the ball. Waggle the club back behind the ball a couple of times to help gain the feeling of how your arms and body are working together to achieve this motion. Then set up to the ball as usual and keep this feeling in mind as you take your swing.
