Against the Frog Hair

Problem

The ball landed on the short fringe against the frog hair.

Cure

When the ball is resting against the longer fringe or shorter rough grass, you can use the putter or a wedge to work it out. It is really up to your comfort level with these clubs.

Therapy

If you use the putter, you will want to set the ball back further in your stance. This way there will be less grass between the putter and the ball. Make a more descending stroke down on the ball. The ball will leave the ground a little but will still have plenty of roll to it. Plan on your speed based on how tall the grass is. The taller the grass, the more friction will be able to slow the ball. If you decide to use your wedge, focus on making contact at the center of the golf ball with the leading edge of the club.
