Accelerate Past

Problem

You are making a full turn yet you are not getting the distances you should.

Cure

Check to see if you are decelerating your swing too soon. If you are just hitting at the ball you will not see as much yardage as you would if you continue accelerating the clubhead past impact.

Therapy

Encourage acceleration during the downswing by aiming at a second ball. Tee another ball up a little higher and on the targets side of your ball. Focus on hitting the second ball. When in play, visualize that you are hitting another ball just past your ball. Another way you can work on accelerating the clubhead is to practice hitting the impact bag hard. This is also a great tool to see how your clubhead is aimed at impact.
