Tip From the Archives

A Straight Back

Problem

Your round started out great but all of a sudden you are not able to make a full shoulder turn without losing balance or slide your hips towards the target.

Cure

Double check your posture. If you are having a bad round, you are more likely to sulk and forget about proper posture. When you slouch or put your chin down by your chest, this will prevent you from making a full turn, causing you to lose your balance or shift your hips.

Therapy

When you setup to the ball, remember to bend at the hips and to keep your back very straight. Make sure you chin is well off of your chest. Allow a slight knee flex and your arms to hang close to your body. Focus on taking the club back smoothly. As you approach the ball, be certain you have a similar spine angle at impact that you had at set up.
