A Pull Slice

Problem

You pull slice the ball and notice a loss of distance with your irons.

Cure

Double check the aim of your shoulders, hips, feet and eyes by moving a club along these areas to see where they it is pointing at. Try using a stronger grip with the crease formed by the thumbs and forefingers pointing towards or just past your trailing shoulder. Make sure the ball is set back enough in your stance, a couple of inches in front of your trailing foot.

Therapy

Work on feeling your trailing hand and arm turning over through impact. If your trailing arm is too tense or placed too low on the club, you will not be able to do this easily. A great way to feel your release is to swing with your trailing arm only. Because most pull slicers have a chicken wing in the trailing arm at impact, this can also help you focus on extending this arm.
