A Grip for the Slicer
Problem
You need to find a way to try to cure your slice and learn how to feel the release of the club. Your slice could be caused by gripping the club too tightly or using a swinging pattern that is prohibiting you from squaring the clubhead at impact.
Cure
Try using a split grip with a lighter gripping pressure to help encourage your trailing hand to take more control over the swing with a better feeling for the release of the club.
Therapy
Take your normal grip on the club. Slide your trailing hand down the grip about three inches. Now lighten your gripping pressure and practice swinging. You should notice that your trailing hand is controlling the swing more, you can feel the natural release of the club a little better, and you are able to square the clubhead at impact easier.
So many golf mags are dedicated to curing the slice. The truth is that if most people would just learn to play the slice, they'd be happier. A slice is just a bit off of a fade anyway.
